Lowepro Photo Sport BP 300 AW II Review
I am a photographer by trade and I like camera bags! I have a variety of bags, backpacks, and messenger bags. After getting my hands on the Lowepro Photo Sport, my initial thoughts were that it’s lightweight, very nice looking, and has a decent amount of storage overall.
After closer inspection and after wearing the backpack, it has little room for much camera equipment other than a consumer camera with lens and one additional lens or flash. It is more for a weekend photographer or enthusiast rather than a professional with lots of equipment and accessories.
The Photo Sport is comfortable to wear and the strap adjustments make it easy to find the perfect fit. The waist belt has two nice, zippered storage pockets for easy access, honestly my favorite part. It also has a whistle on the adjustable chest harness. The whistle is loud and can be used in case of an emergency.
There are several spots for loose gear, such as an an open area with a drawstring closure for personal gear like a pair of shoes and snacks, a nice attic on top, a side storage spot for a windbreaker or water bottle and an area up front as an overflow. There is also an attached all weather cover which in a rough weather situation, would come in exceedingly handy.
As a photo sport backpack, it boasts a dedicated hydration pocket (hydration pack not included) but what I like about this spot, it could double as a small (up to a 13”) laptop pocket!
