Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) Twilight Review
By: Cary Bayless
We all remember ghost stories around the fire as children that made our palms sweat, forced the worst type of awkward laughter out of us, and effectively hindered any chance of sleep for the rest of the camping trip. There is something about being deep in the woods, even as an adult, that turns all campers nerves to brittle. Headlamps become uncomfortable after a few hours and you can’t have a live fire in most tents, so what can you do?
Thankfully, the fine folk at Eagles Nest Outfitters, also known as ENO, have invented a beautiful solution. ENO’s “ENO Twilight” and “ENO Twilight Colors” can rid your fear of clowns in the forest as well as help your campsite to stand out amongst all of your neighbors!
The ENO Twilight and Twilight Colors are both composed of a ten-foot string of lights with 23 bulbs per unit.
The ENO Twilight set is composed of 23 bulbs that each slowly change colors throughout the entire color spectrum at a calming pace that reminds me of the way embers change their glow in the gentle evening winds. This 4 oz. strand is powered by 2 AA batteries that are housed in a black square box similar in size to a pocket-notebook (see picture to the right). Only $19.99 will secure you a night of beautiful colors and peaceful dreams.
The ENO Twilight Colors set is a dual color focused unit weighing in at 4 oz. (see the blue and green lights below) that runs on 3 AAA batteries. The batteries are housed in a small cylindrical unit that is the perfect weight for you to hang over a tree branch and secure your line. For the price of $19.99 you can’t beat this product.
I love both of these lights because they can last a whole two-three nights without needing a change of battery, they present no fire hazard, and are incredibly lightweight. I never venture into the woods for an evening without my lights! I use the changing colored lights (Twilights) to hang from trees around the perimeter of my campsite to ward off Bigfoot, the Moth-Man, and any chance of the stray clown. The blue and green Twilight Colors are securely hung up in my tent and lend the perfect amount of light to read a book as I fall asleep, take out my contacts, and make sure my hound hasn’t peed in the tent.
I give this product 10/10 stars and add it to my top three list for things I won’t camp without. Give them a try this fall and let me know what you think! To see more pictures of this product, check out my instagram account @carybayless.
As Van Gogh says, “I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.” Prove him right and purchase some ENO Twilights today.
