Tread Labs Orthotic Insoles Review

By: Bill Szabo

Recently Tread Labs contacted me asking me to try out their insoles. Now I have never used insoles before, but I figure hey why not, I spend most of my time on my feet it might help! Well here is a little background on what I mean by that. My days are spent working in a busy Orthopedic Urgent Care for twelve hours a day, paramedic school with clinicals, combat medic in the National Guard, and an active outdoorsman. So yeah my feet get sore!

When the box got to my house from Tread Labs I was excited to see how they would feel on my feet. The company sends out two pairs and they are slightly different in the arch which is what they base them on, the arch. So I open the box and inside is an instruction sheet on how to pick the right ones for you. After picking the pair that felt the most comfortable, I took out the insoles that came in my work shoes and slid these into a perfect fit. I will admit that I walked around the house a little and they felt different at first, but in a good way. The first test came the next day when I worked a twelve-hour shift and to tell you the truth my feet felt fine! Normally they are sore, but after wearing them all day I felt fine.

After spending a week using them, I was excited to see how they would handle a real test, a weekend in my Army issued combat boots. Anyone that has served can tell you, the boots they give you are not the most comfortable. Thankfully for Tread Labs that changed this weekend. I slid in the orthotics they sent and my feet were happy!

Tread Labs is the brainchild of Mark Paigen who developed the Chaco sandals. According to their website these insoles will help those who suffer from plantar fasciitis and over pronation. At $75 a pair they are more expensive than the big box store ones but much better. Tread Labs also will sell you the replacement pad for only $25 a pair so that they last a lifetime. I encourage you to try their free in home trial.

I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.
